He said this during a meeting with Prosecutor General Andrei Shved.

“2021 will not be an easy year, we need to survive at all costs, preserve our sovereignty,” BelTA quotes Lukashenka.

According to Lukashenko, even before the presidential elections in Belarus, which took place in August 2020, he assumed that the coronavirus pandemic would lead to the fact that "major players on the world stage will begin to divide the world."

“The pandemic has changed from a purely medical problem to not just an economic one, but already a geopolitical one,” Lukashenka said.

Earlier, Lukashenko, in his New Year address, said that Belarusians need to “turn the page” and write a new chapter in the country's history.
