The opposition is still cautious about its strategy for these elections, but the parties have each shown their serious intention to participate.

On the opening day of the candidacy period, an unprecedented rapprochement took place between the two branches of the Ivorian Popular Front, divided since the departure of former President Laurent Gbagbo.

Reconciliation of enemy brothers

The secretary general of the FPI-GOR, Assoa Adou, met Sunday the president of the FPI-legal,

fresh out of detention

, Pascal Affi N'Guessan.

According to a member of this movement, it is a "

visit of solidarity and compassion at the initiative of President Gbgabo following the release of Affi N'Guessan

 ".

The two currents, however, fought a fratricidal battle for several years.

This rapprochement could therefore be the sign of a desire for reconciliation in view of the legislative elections where the opposition has shown its intention to leave in close ranks.

At the PDCI, we do not hide its desire to win the majority of seats for the benefit of the RHDP, even if this involves the designation of single candidates, some of whom would come from other parties in the opposition coalition.

The submission of candidatures, constituency by constituency, will make it possible to see more clearly the distribution of candidates among the opposition parties and the progress of these internal negotiations, even if the filing period, which ends on the 20th January, is considered "

 very narrow

" by the interim executive secretary of the PDCI, Niamkey Koffi.

On the power side, the RHDP will be able to boast of the support of the RACI, however formerly devoted to the opponent Guillaume Soro, the former Prime Minister still in exile.

As a reminder, each candidate must be over 25 years old and be able to provide a deposit of 100,000 CFA francs.
