government officially protested to Iran through diplomatic channels right after it became aware of the incident yesterday (4th) afternoon.

He said he is calling for the early removal of the Korean Kemi, captured by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

However, it is known that the safety of 20 sailors, including Captain A and 5 Koreans, has not been accurately understood.

An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a call with SBS that "we are currently checking the status of the crew," and "we are asking for accurate information through the Iranian embassy in Korea."

The Ministry of National Defense also dispatched the Cheonghae unit Choi Young- ship to the waters near the Strait of Hormuz and took safety measures against Korean ships sailing in the nearby waters.

It is known that the Cheonghae unit Choi Young-ship will depart from the waters south of the Port of Muscat in Oman and arrive in the sea area this morning.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard has cited the continued threat of environmental pollution from South Korea's Kemiho as a reason for detention, but the government is grasping the Iranian side's exact intentions without excluding the possibility that the actual intentions may be elsewhere.

The government is paying attention to the growing tensions in the Gulf waters, including the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran rebelled against the possibility of a breakup even when the United States requested South Korea's participation in escorting the Strait of Hormuz last year.
