Berlin (dpa / bb) - After several days of interruption, people in the arena hall in Treptow are to be vaccinated against the corona virus again from today.

According to the Senate, around 2500 letters of invitation have been sent to Berliners over 90 years of age, and a total of 7000 invitations are planned.

The vaccination is voluntary and is only given to patients with an appointment.

"Please take care of your health and use the chance to protect yourself against Covid-19 disease with the vaccination," writes Health Senator Dilek Kalayci (SPD) in the invitation.

The vaccination center in Treptow, the largest in the capital with 80 vaccination booths, was the first to start - but closed over New Year's Eve up to and including Sunday.

The vaccinations in Berlin started on the Sunday after Christmas.

So far, a good 14,600 people have been vaccinated;

especially in nursing homes.
