The discovery was made in November and Laholm municipality prepared a Lex Sarah report.

It states that the user has not needed the medicine for several months and that the tablets have been in an unlocked cupboard that only relatives and the home care service know about.

After the incident, the municipality has counted medicines at other users where the number has been correct.

They have also had conversations with the staff.

In front of digital medicine cabinets

The responsible manager writes in the notification that the municipality will introduce digital medicine cabinets in 2021 to reduce the risk of drug waste.

As it has not caused any harm to the user that the medicine has disappeared, the assessment is made that the incident is not considered a misconduct in accordance with the provisions on Lex Sarah.
