The seed ferns are a group of extinct plants that became extinct during one of the five mass extinctions that affected the earth many millions of years ago.

Thanks to fossils, leaves from 200 million-year-old seed ferns have been found that are related to the world's oldest tree species, Ginkgo Biloba.

Now researchers at Natural History want to try to find answers to how animals and plants have reacted to changed conditions, it is said that we are now living in the sixth mass extinction, which was caused by humans.

- We will take this ginko plant and have it in greenhouses with different carbon dioxide content, it can be different temperatures, different humidity, to see how it responds to changes, says Vivi Vajda, professor of palebiology at Natural History.
