January 7: Announcing the establishment of the Sharjah Prize for Literary Poetry Criticism, devoted to studies concerned with poetic criticism.

- February 12, the Polish University of Caracao chose four plays from the books of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to translate them for the purpose of study and expand access to his publications.

- On November 7, the directive to allocate 10 million dirhams to acquire the latest publications of the publishing houses participating in the Sharjah International Book Fair, and to provide Sharjah public and government libraries with the latest intellectual, literary and scientific publications, both Arab and international.

- On November 24, Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi was appointed president of the International Publishers Association, starting with its next business cycle for 2021, and this is the first time that an Arab woman has assumed the presidency of the federation since its founding in 1896, and the second woman in the world.
