Oslo (dpa) - Four days after the severe landslide in Norway, King Harald V (83) visited the disaster area.

He arrived on Sunday morning with his wife, Queen Sonja (83), and Crown Prince Haakon (47) in the municipality of Gjerdrum around 40 kilometers northeast of Oslo.

The royal family wanted to meet with representatives of the community, emergency services and people who had been brought to safety there during the day.

First, she was informed in the Gjerdrum cultural center about how the rescue workers are looking for survivors in the landslide area.

On the day of the accident, Harald expressed his condolences to those affected.

"My thoughts are with everyone who has been affected or injured, has lost their home and is now living in fear and uncertainty about the full extent of the disaster," he said on Wednesday.
