Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - The chairman of the SPD parliamentary group, Katja Pähle, does not recommend classroom teaching in schools in view of the corona situation.
"Even the school cannot be excluded from the task of infection protection," said the parliamentary group leader on Sunday in Magdeburg.
Despite the successful start of the vaccination campaign in the country, great discipline with regard to contact restrictions is still necessary in the coming weeks.
"We can therefore currently not return to regular lessons for everyone," says Pähle.
Primary schools and final classes were an exception.
There, face-to-face teaching is “not dispensable,” said the group leader.
The focus must therefore continue to be on online distance learning, said the SPD politician. Nevertheless: "No student can currently prepare for the Abitur, Real- and Hauptschule qualification in the way that is otherwise possible and necessary," said Pähle. Therefore, among other things, a reduced scope of examinations would make sense. For the time being, according to the regulations, the schools in Saxony-Anhalt are closed until January 10th. The aim is to contain the corona pandemic.
