In South Korea, where the new coronavirus infection is spreading again, an outbreak has occurred in a detention center in Seoul, and more than 1,000 people have been infected so far, and criticisms have been given to the government's response.

At the Seoul Dongbu Detention Center in South Korea, it was revealed that employees were infected with the new coronavirus in late November last year, and an outbreak occurred after that.

The South Korean government announced on the 3rd that the number of infected people involved so far has reached 1084, including 1041 inmates, 22 staff members, and 21 family members and acquaintances.

Due to the large number of people in the detention center, there were concerns about the spread of the infection, but the government's initial response was that large-scale inspections would not be conducted until mid-December. Opposition parties and others have criticized that it may have been delayed, and Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun and others have apologized.
