He was taken to a hospital.
The 75-year-old overlooked an agricultural tractor driving ahead in the direction of Paderborn and hit it, as the police announced on Sunday morning.
The 32-year-old driver of the tractor was uninjured in the accident on Saturday afternoon.
It was said that the 75-year-old's car was seriously damaged.
