Tanaka said that the secret of his longevity is to "eat delicious food and learn", and his goal is to live to 120 years old.

  According to reports, Tanaka was born on January 2, 1903.

After the marriage, the couple ran a rice cake shop. The husband and eldest son went to the battlefield one after another during the war, and she supported the family firmly.

  In March 2019, Tanaka was recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as "the world's longest living elderly" and "the world's longest living woman".

  She currently lives in a nursing home in Fukuoka City.

According to the staff, after she woke up at 7 am on January 2nd, she drank porridge and vegetable soup, smiled and celebrated her birthday and said "Everyone clap your hands."

Tanaka usually does exercises, moves his body, or performs calculations and plays Othello.

Allegedly, she has a good appetite, she would say "want to eat sweets" and enjoy her favorite chocolate and cola.

  Tanaka's grandson Eiji Tanaka (61), who lives in Kawasaki City, said in an interview with Kyodo News: “Although she is in the difficult situation of the new crown epidemic, her grandmother is very energetic. She spends every day happily and feels that happy."
