There are two strategic movements that have reinforced Pablo Casado's internal leadership in recent months.

There will be at least 21 provinces that the PP has submitted to congress -or changes of stickers- before the summer of 2021. This will help Pablo Casado to have more support in the future against the misgivings that some baronies may have.
The changes also underpin Teodoro García Egea's ascendancy as general secretary, a position in which he continues to accumulate power.

The idea is to promote younger and "hungry" leaders, especially among those who obtained good results in the municipal elections of 2019. "Improve what there is", they settled in Genoa.
In this way, the national leadership has greater power over the barons, since it can manage to place like-minded candidates and even control the majority of provincial organizations of some specific autonomy.
For this reason the renovation processes have generated tensions in some regions, although in some places more than in others.

The provincial presidents have a determining weight in the distribution of power of the PP.
Above all, since the arrival of Casado, who in 2019 increased the influence of these leaders to give them a greater voice, more dialogue with the national leadership and a greater degree of penetration in the party kitchen.
