Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - One year after the introduction of the "receipt obligation" against tax fraud at shop tills, the criticism of craft and trade in Saxony-Anhalt does not stop.

They complain of more and more bureaucracy, effort and garbage, but less time for the actual work.

The relationship between the costs for entrepreneurs when purchasing cash registers with security systems and the benefits for the tax authorities in the fight against tax evaders is still open, as a survey by the German Press Agency (dpa) showed.

It was too early for that, as a spokeswoman for the finance ministry said.

Since the beginning of 2020, retailers with electronic cash register systems have had to give their customers an unsolicited receipt for every purchase.

The so-called obligation to issue receipts is one of several measures

with which the legislature wants to put a stop to tax fraud through sham funds.
