There were dead and wounded - including Turkish contractors - in an attack this morning, Saturday, in Hawa Abdi, in the southern suburbs of Mogadishu, and Al-Shabaab announced its support for the attack.

Al-Jazeera correspondent said that a spokesman for Al-Shabaab announced the adoption of the attack, which killed at least 3 people, including a Turk, and wounded 10 others, including two Turkish contractors in a construction company.

It was reported that a man carrying an explosive belt blew himself up among Turkish policemen, workers and engineers who were working on the construction of the road linking Mogadishu to the city of Afgooye.

The Somali police did not comment on the incident, and the road itself had previously been exposed to bombings that killed citizens and workers, a project that has been in place for nearly two years, funded by the State of Qatar and the Turkish administration.
