Potsdam (dpa / bb) - The Brandenburg state government is currently not planning any further premium payments for medical staff at hospitals.

The background is also that perceived injustices and unequal treatment would occur again and again, as the Ministry of Health announced in response to a request from the AfD parliamentary group.

Good working conditions and better earning opportunities are decisive for the employees.

The ministry emphasized that all nurses should benefit from better pay.

A permanent upgrading of the professions in the health sector requires higher tariffs overall.

These can only be achieved through a collective agreement between employers and employees.

That is why the state government advocates a generally binding collective agreement in nursing.

In this context, the Ministry of Health named the last collective bargaining round in October in the public sector with an increase in wages for all employees and allowances for employees in hospitals and nursing and care facilities as a correct step.

According to the ministry, the National Association of Health Insurance Funds has paid out premiums to nine eligible hospitals in the state.

According to a list by the Ministry of Health, the facilities included the Dahme-Spreewald Clinic in Lübben, the Märkisch-Oderland GmbH hospitals in Strausberg, the Ernst von Bergmann GmbH Clinic and the Brandenburg Clinic Berlin-Brandenburg in Bernau.

The institution concerned decides who receives a bonus. It can therefore amount to up to 1000 euros.

According to the ministry, hospitals must have paid the bonuses to employees by December 31, 2020.

The Carl-Thiem-Klinikum in Cottbus, the largest supplier in the south, said it had promised the employees of Thiem-Service GmbH (TSG), a subsidiary, a special corona payment of 600 euros for December 2020.
