History repeats itself every weekend, but it gets worse by force.

Madrid's Sierra de Guadarrama

is completely collapsed due

to an increasing influx of public.

More than 150 people have had to wait for hours for the bus back to Madrid

with temperatures of 10 degrees below zero.

Many people from Madrid who decided to spend Saturday in the mountains and

arrived by public transport first thing in the morning

, were unaware that the return bus did not arrive until 4 in the afternoon.

From La Venta Marcelino, located in the port of Cotos, they have had to treat

several cases of hypothermia

in people who went up to the mountains, but they did not have shelter or transportation to return to the city.

As happens every weekend,

the Navacerrada and Cotos car parks

were full early in the morning and the M-601 and M-604 had to be cut due to the high influx of vehicles.

It so happens that today has been very cold and

with very low temperatures

, so many visitors have found themselves out in the open and without a place to shelter.

In the port of Cotos, there is only Venta Marcelino and the Peñalara visitor center can only be accessed by appointment.

In this way, the wait of more than 150 people for

the return bus to

arrive

was somewhat agonizing.

"At this time, Cotos is blocked.

More and more unfamiliar people come up from the mountain

, who do not know where they are coming. If you arrive dressed as if you were going to take a walk through Puerta del Sol and the temperatures drop to 10 degrees below zero , you stay frozen ", explains Rafael Sánchez, owner of Venta Marcelino.

Sánchez has long denounced

the lack of infrastructure

and public transport to attend the large influx of people to the Sierra during the weekends, especially at Christmas time.

"It is a real chaos. Crazy. The mountaineer is informed of the meteorological conditions. But we are at Christmas and it is time to go up the mountain with the children. And then they find themselves with

hours and hours of waiting

or with no parking", adds the owner of this sale, with 100 years of history behind him.
