The director of the Emirates Mars Exploration Project (Hope Probe), Engineer Omran Sharaf, said that the results of space projects, including the "Hope Probe", would take between 15 and 20 years to appear.

He explained to "Emirates Today" that the results emerge through the change in the economic system in the country, and the transfer of science and technology to play a direct role as a main engine in building and developing the economic system, in addition to the contribution of this type of projects to the creation of scientists in the field of space, and other basic fields associated with it. .

Sharaf added, "Space science is one of the tools that the UAE uses to encourage young people to enter this vast scientific field."

He also stressed that «there are close effects that appear immediately after the completion of any space project, and we have already seen that after the implementation of a number of projects, which began to grow until the launch of the (Hope Probe), as the interests of young people, especially students, changed, so a large number of them went to Scientific and technical studies related to space. Universities began designing new scientific and engineering programs related to it. This was accompanied by a change in school curricula, to include a view of space from the Emirati portal.

Sharaf said that the "Hope Probe" team represents the vision of the UAE in the space sector, and that work continues to transfer ambition to other sectors, such as the food or water security sector, or the environmental, educational or industrial sector, so that the efforts made are not limited to the space sector.

Sharaf continued: “We want our expertise to be transferred to different sectors, and not to be limited to this field only, and from my point of view, this will be the spirit of the next stage, that is, transferring knowledge to other sectors, to complete the story of the UAE and its establishment, and the space ambition is continuous, and we are able "To face all kinds of challenges, and our team is ready to be assigned to any new scientific tasks."

He pointed out that the "Al-Mesbar" team received a directive from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, that the data, which we obtain through Al-Masbar, should be provided to everyone without exception, free of charge.

Regarding the Arab participation in the "probe", Sharaf said: "We have in the academic sector Arab elements, and it will be a key partner in the stage of analyzing the data that we obtain with the mediation of (the probe), and arriving at scientific results or achieving new discoveries on the red planet, and then the project "It gives everyone an opportunity, and provides them with the required tools."

The nucleus of the space community

The director of the Emirates Mars Exploration Project (Probe of Hope), Engineer Omran Sharaf, confirmed that the Arab role in the project was clear from the first day of the mission.

He explained that the impact of Emirati space projects in building a new scientific culture will not be limited to Emirati society, but will extend to other countries and societies, especially Arab ones.

He said that the introduction of topics related to satellite aspects in the school curricula, the participation of Arab school and university students in educational and induction programs, in addition to organizing summer camps organized by the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center, which included Arab youth, in addition to many workshops that witnessed a variety of participation. From society, it will represent - with those working in the academic sector as teachers, teachers and professors - "the nucleus of an Arab society interested in the space sector."
