- It has been an exceptionally messy and messy night in the whole region, says Lars Hedelin, spokesman for the police in the Bergslagen region.

A policeman was injured in an intervention in central Avesta where 40-50 young men fired fireworks at the police, kicked and smashed the police cars.

- A colleague standing outside the police car gets a hearing damage in connection with a firework being thrown at the car and detonating, says Lars Hedelin.

The incident is classified as violence against an official and flashlight sabotage.

No one has been arrested, but a number of people have been taken into custody under the Intoxicated Persons (LOB) Act and fireworks have been seized under the Flammable and Explosive Goods Act.

In Mora, the police were exposed to shelling of fireworks during an intervention outside a restaurant in the center at midnight.

The intervention resulted in two 15-year-olds being driven home and an unknown number of people being taken into care according to LOB.

Here, too, there are suspicions of violations of the law on flammable and explosive goods.

Even in other parts of Dalarna, it has been messy with many interventions due to drunkenness, abuse and mental illness.

- I have never experienced anything like this, my colleague who worked last night and has been with the police for 30 years says that it is the worst he has experienced during his entire career, says Lars Hedelin about New Year's Eve in the Bergslagen region.
