Berlin (dpa / bb) - According to the police, the vast majority of Berliners adhered to the restrictions due to the corona pandemic on New Year's Eve.

That applies, for example, to the 56 firecrackers ban zones, said a police spokesman on Friday at a dpa request.

However, there were also attacks on police officers - according to initial findings, no officer was seriously injured.

Cars went up in flames in several places in the city.

All in all, New Year's Eve, which also included a ban on alcohol in the streets and squares, was quieter than the turn of the year earlier.
