(Fighting New Coronary Pneumonia) Over 750,000 confirmed cases in Indonesia temporarily ban foreigners from entering

  China News Agency, Jakarta, January 1st (Reporter Lin Yongchuan) Indonesian officials announced on the afternoon of the 1st that there were 8072 new confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia in the country that day. The total number of confirmed cases has exceeded 750,000, reaching 751,270; 191 new deaths were added. A total of 22329 deaths occurred.

  The number of new confirmed cases and the number of deaths in a single day in the country are both at the highest level since the outbreak in early March.

  On the same day, Indonesia began to implement a temporary epidemic prevention policy that prohibits foreigners from entering the country for a tentative period of 14 days.

According to the announcement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia a few days ago, in view of the mutation and rapid spread of the new crown virus, the government of this country has decided to temporarily ban foreign nationals who take direct or transit commercial flights from entering Indonesia from January 1 to 14 this year.

  However, foreigners holding a valid Indonesian diplomatic or official residence permit, foreigners holding a valid Indonesian limited residence permit or long-term residence permit, and members of foreign government delegations above the deputy ministerial level are not prohibited.

The above-mentioned foreign nationals who are allowed to enter Indonesia should undergo nucleic acid testing upon arrival at the Indonesian port of entry and go to the hotel designated by the Ministry of Health of the country for a five-day intensive medical observation at their own expense.

  The day before, the second batch of 1.8 million doses of finished Covid-19 vaccine from China arrived in the capital Jakarta. Indonesian Foreign Minister Leitno and Health Minister Budi arrived at the airport to welcome the arrival of the vaccine.

Leitno revealed at Jakarta Airport that 15 million doses of vaccines also from China will also arrive in Indonesia this month.

On December 6, 2020, the first batch of 1.2 million doses of Chinese vaccines arrived in Jakarta.

  These vaccines from China are waiting for emergency use approval from the Indonesian Food and Drug Administration.

Budi said that the Indonesian government hopes to start implementing a vaccination plan this month.
