Nuremberg (dpa / lby) - Just a few minutes after midnight, a baby was born in Nuremberg on New Year's Eve.

Little Sila was born at 0.05 a.m., the first child in Nuremberg in 2021, announced the Hallerwiese clinic on Friday.

A natural birth was actually planned, then it turned out to be a caesarean section.

At home, in addition to her father, three siblings are waiting for Sila.

"Every birth is special, but the birth of the New Year's baby is something extraordinary," a midwife was quoted as saying.

A baby was born even earlier in Saxony: at midnight sharp, a girl was born in Dresden.
