The norms of the document regulate the cases when landfills should be closed and liquidated, ”the press service of the Russian Ecological Operator (REO) said.
It is noted that it is possible to bury and incinerate waste only if it cannot be recycled.
According to the new rules, all objects must be equipped with scales and an automatic accounting system and data transfer to an information waste accounting system, as well as automated sorting technologies.
If special facilities have already been built, then they need to be modernized and reconstructed by 2026 in order for them to meet the approved requirements.
Ruslan Gubaidullin, director of the "Clean Country" association, noted that the issue of financing the refurbishment of these facilities should be promptly resolved.
Earlier it was reported that the last landfill of household waste, Lesnoy, was closed in the Moscow region.
