The people of the city of Hun, in the Jufra region (central Libya), demonstrated to demand retribution from the mercenaries of the Russian Wagner Company and the Sudanese Janjaweed militants who support the forces of retired Major General Khalifa Haftar, after a civilian was shot dead.

The "Volcano of Anger" operation of the Government of National Accord - on its official Facebook and Twitter pages - said that the people went out on Thursday in a demonstration after the mercenaries' repeated attacks on civilians.

She added that a number of the people of Hun - which is located south of the city of Sirte - stormed the headquarters of Haftar's military region in the city, and demanded the departure of the Wagner mercenaries, the Janjaweed and the Qasas from them.

The "Volcano of Anger" operation published pictures of the demonstration, which were shared by other Libyan news websites, and activists reported that the protest came after the killing of a young man named Ayman Abu Qusaisa by gunmen from the Sudanese Janjaweed militia.

Activists said that other civilians were previously killed by bullets or as a result of torture at the hands of gunmen loyal to Haftar and mercenaries, and called on the residents of the city to declare a civil disobedience.

Last July, the city of Hun witnessed a similar demonstration to protest the killing of a civilian by Janjaweed bullets, according to activists.

The Jufra region includes an air base, according to frequent reports that numbers of Russian mercenaries are stationed there, and there are also numbers of these Russians in the city of Sirte, which is controlled by Haftar.
