In order to promote the digitization of the government, which has been pointed out to be delayed due to the spread of the new coronavirus, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government will set up a new "Digital Service Bureau" and will focus on improving operations and services for citizens of Tokyo.

Regarding the government's response to the new coronavirus, issues such as delays in digitization and a shortage of human resources were pointed out in online application for benefits.

In light of these circumstances, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government will establish a new "Digital Service Bureau" in the new fiscal year's organizational reform from April.

With a scale of about 200 people, it will play a role of waving a flag for digitalization, providing technical support to other departments and training specialized staff.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government will submit an amendment to the ordinance necessary for the establishment to the regular meeting of the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly from next month.

As a city that advocates "structural reform of metropolitan government," we will focus on "DX = digital transformation" measures that promote the improvement of operations and the improvement of services for citizens of Tokyo by making full use of digital technology.
