Bremen (dpa / lni) - Despite a general ban on fireworks and fireworks in Bremen, the police there at the turn of the year had more to do than last year.

The officers moved out more than 300 times during the night, said a police spokesman.

A year earlier there were around 280 missions on New Year's Eve.

Many people did not adhere to the ban this year: Fireworks could be heard throughout the city, the spokesman said.

Around 250 firecrackers and rockets and more than a dozen weapons and alarm weapons were confiscated.

One baby was slightly injured by a rocket.

In addition, according to the police, several firefighters who were about to extinguish the fire of a garbage can were pelted with fireworks by strangers.

The emergency services were uninjured.

According to the police, a fire in two cars resulted in damage of around 40,000 euros.

The federal police in Bremen were also busy during the night: a 24-year-old and a 26-year-old were beaten at the main train station in Delmenhorst, Lower Saxony, after wishing a passing group a Happy New Year.

Four 16-year-olds were caught a little later, the federal police announced on Friday.

They are being investigated for dangerous bodily harm.
