  The second is that academicians are not allowed to accept gifts and gifts from candidates and their units, they must decline visits by candidates and their clients, and resolutely resist unhealthy practices such as "running academicians".

  The third is that academicians are not allowed to participate in activities organized by candidates and their units during the co-election period. If they really need to participate due to academic exchanges, they must report to their academic department in writing, and must not receive lecture fees, review fees, and consulting fees that exceed the national standards.   Fourth, candidates, their clients, and candidate units are not allowed to present gifts or gifts to academicians by any means, or engage in canvassing activities.

  Fifth, candidates and their clients are not allowed to visit academicians in the name of reporting, consulting, soliciting opinions, etc., to conduct activities for elected academicians.

  Sixth, candidates are not allowed to engage in fraud, misappropriating others' academic achievements, etc., and they must truthfully report the individual's past academic style, morality, and violations of regulations and disciplines.

  Seventh, government officials are not allowed to interfere with the co-election work in violation of regulations during the nomination, review, and election process, and are not allowed to accept gifts and gifts from candidates and their units.

  Eighth, all personnel involved in the co-election work are not allowed to disclose the evaluation and election information of the candidates during the co-election process, such as discussions, evaluations, complaints, investigation and handling opinions, and election results.

  The additional election of academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering is held every two years. There are 811 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and 901 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, including 7 from Hong Kong, 3 from Taiwan and 1 from Macau.
