The landslide in Ask about 40 kilometers north of the capital Oslo occurred early Wednesday morning.

It expanded to a length of about 700 meters and a width of 300 meters.

At least ten people were injured.

Nine houses have collapsed as a result of the departure, others are at risk of collapse.

Almost 1,000 people were brought to safety.

The missing lived in the affected area, but it is not clear whether they were at home at the time of the disaster.

Parts of the area continued to be so unstable on Thursday that it was too dangerous for the search teams to enter on foot.

Norway was hit by a similar landslide in the summer.

At that time, the exit near Alta in the far north of the country pulled several houses and huts into the sea.

People were not injured.

As it was then, it is now expected that the nature of the ground has something to do with the landslide.

The exact reason for the departure of Ask is so far unclear.

It had rained a lot in the region recently.
