Paris (AP) - The French actor and director Robert Hossein is dead.
As the French news agency AFP reported, citing Hossein's wife Candice Patou, Hossein died on Thursday morning after breathing problems in the hospital.
Hossein, who became internationally known through the "Angélique" films, turned 93 on Wednesday.
Hossein has starred in more than 100 films and plays in a career spanning more than 60 years.
The son of the Iranian composer Aminollah Hossein, who was born in Paris, had his first successes as a theater director.
