Stuttgart (AP) - The former hostage Diana Müll from the hijacked Lufthansa plane “Landshut” has spoken out against dismantling the aircraft for several exhibition locations.

"For God's sake!

That would be the biggest shock for us former hostages, "said the 62-year-old, who lives in Giessen (Hesse), of the" Stuttgarter Zeitung "(Thursday).

For her personally it is very important that there is a museum in which the so-called German Autumn and the drama about the “Landshut” are remembered.

The "Landshut" symbolizes the dark chapter in German post-war history.

Several celebrities fell victim to the terror of the “Red Army Faction” (RAF).

On October 13, 1977, Palestinian terrorists took control of the aircraft with 82 passengers and 5 crew members in order to free the arrested RAF people around Andreas Baader and Gudrun Ensslin.

At the airport in the Somali city of Mogadishu, forces of the German special force GSG9 stormed the plane and freed the hostages unharmed.

There is now a discussion about where the «Landshut» should be exhibited in full.

Several possible locations, for example in Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance, Fürstenfeldbruck in Bavaria or Berlin, are being examined.

But a decentralized solution is also being discussed.

Friedrichshafen finds garbage “perfect” as a location.

There are many tourists there, "a large audience that could be interested in our history".

In 2017, the then Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel (SPD) had the Boeing 737, which had not been used since 1985, brought from Brazil to Friedrichshafen.

Dragging the machine to the federal capital now would be complete nonsense for financial reasons, the former hostage told the newspaper.

Diana Müll was born in Gießen in 1958 and was 19 years old when the hostage was taken.

She said she could still remember every single moment, every detail of the kidnapping.

"There are always moments when the experiences from back then are brought back to life in a fraction of a second," she said.

"The trauma remains."

The 62-year-old has also written a book about her abduction and rescue.
