In the corona pandemic, an important indicator for North Rhine-Westphalia fell slightly.

The so-called seven-day incidence for the state is now 126.8, as the Robert Koch Institute announced on Thursday morning, December 31.

This means that around 127 people per 100,000 inhabitants were infected with the new type of coronavirus in one week.

In the previous days the value was higher, at the beginning of the week it was 147.3.

However, the informative value of the pandemic data is currently weakened because fewer tests were made and processed at Christmas - results of tests carried out after the holidays may not have been included in the statistics.

In addition, the decreased incidence value is still a long way from the level that is aimed for - namely a value below 50.
