The Integrated Transport Center of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi stated that companies' vehicles will not be included in the daily and monthly transit fees ceiling for the traffic toll gates system on Abu Dhabi Island, which will be activated tomorrow, stressing that the ceiling is (200 dirhams for the first vehicle, 150 dirhams for the second and 100 dirhams for each vehicle. The center emphasized that activating the automatic payment feature for vehicles passing through the toll gates is mandatory for vehicles registered outside the emirate, while it is optional for vehicles registered inside it.

In detail, the center will start activating the “traffic toll” system tomorrow to cross vehicles during the morning peak periods (from 7 to 8:59 in the morning) and evening (from 5 to 6:59 in the evening), so that vehicles passing through the four toll gates (Sheikh Bridge Zayed, Mussafah Bridge, Sheikh Khalifa Bridge, Al Maqta Bridge) to pay a toll of four dirhams for each traffic.

According to the collection policies, a daily and a monthly ceiling is calculated for the movements of vehicles subject to traffic tariff fees at peak times outside of official holidays, as the maximum daily tariff fee for individual vehicles subject to fees is 16 dirhams, and the monthly ceiling for the first vehicle is 200 dirhams, and individuals who own more than one vehicle can Rearranging their vehicles in the tariff system, so that the monthly ceiling for the second vehicle becomes 150 dirhams, while the monthly ceiling for the third and subsequent vehicle is 100 dirhams.

The center said that the companies' vehicles are subject to approved traffic tariff fees (four dirhams) for each transit time, but without applying the highest ceiling for the daily or monthly fees, explaining that the fees will be deducted automatically from the user's account balance, prepaid, through an electronic payment wallet. Whereas, the vehicle is identified by its number without the need to affix a tag to the windshield of the vehicle.

The center confirmed that vehicles passing through the toll gates are exempt from fees on Fridays and public holidays.

Also, there are vehicles that are automatically exempted without submitting any requests, including ambulances, armed forces and civil defense vehicles, which bear their numbers and logo, public buses, motorized bicycles, public taxis licensed in the emirate, school buses authorized by the Integrated Transport Center, and passenger buses. (The capacity is specified by the Licensing Authority for 26 passengers and above), vehicles bearing the logo and number of Abu Dhabi Police, Ministry of Interior or other local Emirates Police, and trailer vehicles.

He also identified four categories that can obtain exemption from the "traffic tariff", provided an official request is submitted to the Integrated Transport Center, provided that only one vehicle is exempted for each of the four categories, and they are vehicles of people of determination, vehicles of families with limited income, and vehicles of senior citizens, And vehicles of retired citizens.

The center confirmed that the traffic tariff system violations are calculated according to six types, the first of which is “passing an unregistered vehicle for the first time,” as a violation of 100 dirhams is counted after the end of the grace period (10 working days from the date of traffic) without registering the vehicle.

The second is «passing an unregistered vehicle for the second time», and a fine of 200 dirhams is calculated after the end of the grace period (10 working days from the date of traffic) without registering the vehicle.

The third type is the “vehicle passing unregistered for the third time or more”, and a violation of 400 dirhams is calculated for each traffic after the second time, after the end of the grace period (10 working days from the date of traffic), and the fourth is “insufficient balance”. 50 dirhams in the event that the balance is insufficient for vehicles bearing non-Abu Dhabi license plates, after the end of the grace period (five working days) without sufficient balance in the vehicle’s wallet, and the fifth “tampering with the vehicle's license plate for the purpose of evading the payment of traffic tariff fees”, A fine of 10 thousand dirhams is calculated.

Finally, “damage to any of the electronic payment machines or toll gates”, and a fine of 10 thousand dirhams will be calculated.

Traffic fee collection

According to the policies of collecting traffic fees from users, set by the Integrated Transport Center on the official page and the smart application of the tariff system "Darb", the tariff fee is automatically collected from the user's financial wallet for each movement (if the vehicle is registered in the system), for vehicles registered outside the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. While the user has the option to activate or disable the automatic payment feature for his wallet for each vehicle for vehicles registered in Abu Dhabi, which means that the automatic payment feature will be mandatory for vehicles registered outside the emirate, and optional for vehicles registered within it.
