About 1,700 military air defense and missile defense will take over duty on New Year's Eve

"About 1,700 servicemen of the 1st Air Defense and Missile Defense Army of the Special Purpose Aerospace Forces will take up combat duty on New Year's Eve," the message says.

The defense department said that "the combat crews of the formation will serve in anti-aircraft missile forces, at radar stations of radio-technical troops, command posts and command posts of formations and military units."

Earlier it was reported that during the New Year holidays more than 500 officers of the military police of the Southern Military District will patrol the territory of military camps and garrisons of the district every day.
