Geneticist Axel Kahn regretted Wednesday that the government did not adopt a more offensive strategy to persuade the French of the need to be vaccinated against Covid-19.

The cautious strategy of the government "is not adapted to a situation which is very perilous", underlines on Europe 1 the president of the National League against the cancer, even though, he says, that there are in France between 30 and 35% of "vaccine skeptics".

Kahn calls for targeting "terribly hesitant people".

"We must certainly bring them truth and transparency, but also enthusiasm", he adds, accusing the executive of "taking very small steps".

With this attitude, "we are going to convince them that indeed, if we go so slowly, it means that we are not sure of ourselves and that there is a danger," he observes.

"We must protect the French people and fragile people. And vaccinate caregivers as a priority", continues the president of the National League against cancer, himself decided to be vaccinated "as soon as possible".

On the Cnews channel, Professor Philippe Juvin, head of emergencies at the Georges Pompidou hospital, regretted for his part that France "does not have a vaccine strategy".

"As an individual, I would like to be vaccinated, to set an example, and tell people: we don't die from the vaccine, we die from Covid, and when we don't die, we have heavy forms which are very debilitating ".

"If I were the prime minister, I would get the vaccine," he added.
