China News Service, Beijing, December 30 (Reporter Wang Enbo) As the new round of low temperature weather hits, China's natural gas supply work is facing challenges.

Li Yunqing, director of the Economic Operation Regulation Bureau of the National Development and Reform Commission of China, said on the 30th that the supply and demand of natural gas in China are basically balanced. The recoverable gas volume of pipeline storage, tank storage and gas storage are all at a relatively high level, and the use of gas for civilian life is guaranteed.

In an interview with the media, Li Yunqing said that in response to the impact of this round of low temperature weather, the National Development and Reform Commission and relevant parties have made overall plans in advance and strengthened coordination and dispatch, mainly from the following aspects.

One is to strengthen the supply of imported resources.

Promote the smooth commissioning of the middle section of the Sino-Russian Eastern Route. The daily gas import volume will reach 28 million cubic meters, effectively increasing the supply of resources during the peak period of gas consumption.

The second is to consolidate the management and inventory resource reserves.

Before the arrival of low-temperature weather, the national pipeline network's supervisory stock was increased to 2.35 billion cubic meters, which is the highest level since the beginning of winter, and can provide effective guarantee for responding to the substantial increase in short-term gas demand.

The third is to increase national resource pooling.

Make full use of the interconnection of the pipeline network, organize the reverse transmission of some pipeline gas to the north, adjust some LNG ships unloaded at the southern coastal receiving stations to the north, intensify the "south-to-north" efforts, and increase the supply of resources in the north.

The fourth is to prepare for emergency plans.

Adhere to the bottom line thinking, organize all localities to make plans, and give priority to ensuring people's livelihood needs.

Li Yunqing said that the gas supply for heating in the north is generally better.

The seven key provinces and cities with clean heating in the north have maintained double-digit growth in their daily air supply, which has accounted for about 40% of the national air supply.

"We schedule the supply of heating gas in various regions every day, and urge and coordinate relevant regions to verify and solve some individual cases in time to ensure that the people stay warm during the winter." (End)
