Today (30th) President Moon Jae-in accepted the appreciation of the Ministry of Justice Chu Mi-ae and appointed Democratic Party member Park Beom-gye, who was a former judge, as a successor.



In addition, as the Minister of Environment, Rep. Han Jeong-ae, Chairman of the Democratic Party Policy Committee, and former Naval Chief of Staff, Hwang Ki-cheol, were appointed as Minister of National Veterans Affairs.

Candidate Park Bum-gye served as a civil affairs secretary and a legal secretary at the Blue House of the Participating Government after being judged by the Seoul, Jeonju, and Daejeon Law, and worked as a member of the 19th-21st National Assembly, serving as a secretary to the Legal Affairs and Judicial Committee, and a secretary to the Judicial Reform Commission.



In particular, with Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol and the Judicial Examination (33 times) and the Judicial Research and Training Institute (23rd term), it became a hot topic to call President Yoon Seok-yeol on social media in the past.



Chief Jung said, "Candidate Park expects to complete the prosecution and legal reforms based on his knowledge, legal expertise, strong willpower, and reform mindset that he has accumulated while working in the courts, the government, and the National Assembly."



As a result, the Minister of Justice of the Moon Jae-in government has been assigned by non-prosecutors, following former ministers Park Sang-sang and Cho Kook, former professors, and former judge Cho Mi-ae.



The Cheong Wa Dae said that Minister Chu will serve as minister until Park is appointed through a personnel hearing.



Candidate Han Jeong-ae is a 3rd elected member of the Korean Federation of Trade Unions, served as a secretary of the National Assembly's Environment and Labor Committee, a co-representative of the National Assembly's Climate Change Forum, and currently serves as the Chairman of the Democratic Party's Policy Committee.



Chief Jeong said, "One candidate has an integrated perspective on the policy. We will actively pursue the '2050 long-term low-carbon development strategy' and produce tangible results in policy tasks such as fine dust reduction."



Regarding the nominee of Veterans Affairs Minister Hwang Ki-cheol, he introduced, "He has been through key positions in the field of operation, and in particular, he successfully commanded the'Aden Bay Dawn' operation in 2011."
