Hamburg / Ahrensburg (dpa / lno) - Emilia and Henry have established themselves as the most popular names in the list of first name expert Knud Bielefeld in Hamburg this year.

Nationwide, however, Mia and Noah were in the first place, as the statistics published by the amateur name researcher on Wednesday in Ahrensburg (Schleswig-Holstein) further show.

In Hamburg, Hannah and Mila as well as Emil and Finn follow in second and third place.

In 2019 Hannah, Emilia and Emma as well as Finn, Leon and Luis made the race.

In addition, the name researcher noticed typical names that are mainly selected in Hamburg.

These include Fiete, Jonte, Piet, Alma, Ava and Carla.

For the statistics, Bielefeld and his helpers evaluated the baby galleries of maternity clinics as well as official gazettes from 465 locations.

For the year 2020 he recorded and evaluated almost 180,000 birth notifications from all over Germany.

This corresponds to around 23 percent of all children born in 2020.

In 2019, around 781,000 newborns were born in Germany.

The figures for 2020 are not yet available.

In a forecast in mid-December, she saw Emil and Lena with the best chances for the top places nationwide.
