Berlin (dpa / bb) - In Berlin, demonstrations on New Year's Eve are prohibited.
The Berlin Administrative Court has rejected a corresponding urgent application against the ban on demonstrations in force under the Senate's current infection protection ordinance (Az .: VG 1 L 458/20).
The court announced on Wednesday upon request and announced a press release explaining the decision.
Against the background of the corona pandemic, the Senate has banned meetings on New Year's Eve and New Year's in Section 26 of its current Infection Protection Ordinance.
On the other hand, an urgent application had been received by the administrative court.
The applicant himself had scheduled a meeting for New Year's Eve.
However, it was not about the "lateral thinking" demonstration against government restrictions in the Corona crisis, which was originally also registered for New Year's Eve.
The organizers had brought it forward to December 30th after the ban on gathering became known.
The police then banned the demonstration.
