Dresden (dpa / sn) - According to a court decision, the ban on firecrackers issued in Dresden continues to apply to private properties.

The administrative court of Dresden rejected an urgent application against this regulation in the general order of the city, as a court spokesman announced on Wednesday.

The aim of the ban is to prevent the gathering of people and reduce contacts.

"That also applies to private space," it was said to justify.

For example, private fireworks could be an incentive for other people to go to lookout points.

The judges rated the ban on firecrackers as a relatively minor impairment of the individual's freedom of action compared to considerable health risks for a large number of people.

A complaint against the decision can be lodged with the Higher Administrative Court within two weeks.

According to the court, there were a total of five urgent motions against the ban on firecrackers in Dresden.

In the four other proceedings, a decision could be made on Wednesday, it said.
