Vechta (dpa / lni) - Bundesliga basketball team EWE Baskets Oldenburg has just won the Lower Saxony derby at Rasta Vechta.
The German champions from 2009 won on Wednesday with 82:80 (48:44) and is in third place with 16: 4 points at the end of the year.
Vechta, on the other hand, also lost their tenth game of the season and is in last place in the table without points.
After ten minutes everything looked like a sovereign success for the high favorite from Oldenburg.
The Baskets led 26:18, thanks in part to top scorer Nathan Boothe, who scored twelve of his 23 points in the first quarter.
Vechta then got the game under control and reduced it to four points at the break.
After the break, Rasta was on a par and even went into the final quarter with a narrow lead (67: 66/30.).

Three minutes before the end, Rasta was again in front (80:79).
While Oldenburg then turned a successful field throw and a free throw, coach Thomas Päch's team failed and lost without a point in the new year.
