A drama was narrowly avoided on Monday late afternoon in Marseille.

It was around 5:30 p.m. when a motorist ran over a municipal police officer on an ATV, report several local media, confirming information from France Soir.

The driver then wanted to escape control and headed for a patrol.

The officer was dragged with his two-wheeler for several meters before being stranded in a vice by another vehicle which struck that of the fugitive.

He was taken care of by the Marseille firefighters and taken to the Timone hospital.

Thirty years old, he was shocked and suffered serious injuries to his leg and back, his vital prognosis not being jeopardized.

As for the driver, already known to the police, he was arrested.

The thirty-something drove without a license and insurance.
