Hockenheim (dpa / lsw) - A horde of wild boars caused four traffic accidents on Autobahn 6 near Hockenheim (Rhein-Neckar district) and then knocked over a pedestrian in a residential area.

The estimated 20 pigs ran on Tuesday afternoon on the A6, the police said.

According to the information, they could have previously got through holes in security fences.

Two people were slightly injured and four wild boars were killed in the accidents.

In an adjacent residential area, one of the animals also ran into a pedestrian who fell to the ground and suffered injuries.

Several police patrols and hunters searched the area for the missing animals and shot a wild boar.

According to the police, according to initial estimates, the damage is tens of thousands of euros.

The A6 was completely closed for several hours in the afternoon.
