"The refreshment at the end of the year will not have changed anything. "At the start of the year, the country experienced its second hottest month of February in history, marked by several peaks of remarkable mildness and numerous records," Météo-France also explains in a press release.

"During the summer, two episodes of heatwave affected France from July 30 to August 1 and then from August 6 to 13. September was then marked by an exceptional late heat wave from September 13 to 17".

Sign of global warming, Météo-France also recalls that "among the 10 warmest years since 1900, nine belong to the 21st century: 2020, 2018, 2014, 2019, 2011, 2003, 2015, 2017 and 2006" and that "among the 10 hottest years since 1900, seven belong to the last decade ".
