The first Emirati female fighter in the ranks of the Air Force and Air Defense, Lieutenant Colonel Pilot Maryam Al Mansoori, called on young men and women in the UAE to benefit from the great support provided by the leadership in the country to enhance the capabilities of its children, stressing the need to set big goals and make efforts to reach them.

Al-Mansouri directed advice to all young men and women of the nation, to follow their passion and make effort, and not to retreat in the face of the challenges and difficulties that will face them, especially as the state has provided various tools to go into all fields, in addition to the presence of leadership that supports and provides the appropriate conditions for an integrated environment, based on creativity, innovation, distinction and excellence .

This came during a dialogue organized by "Sajaya Sharjah Girls", affiliated to the Rubu Qarn Foundation for the Industry of Leaders and Innovators, yesterday morning, in a visual call on the "Zoom" platform, as part of the "Meeting with Molham" event, which it organizes to present inspiring models from the Emirati community for new generations. From adolescents and youth, with the aim of making a positive difference at the local and global levels, benefiting from their experiences and practical experiences, and getting acquainted with the challenges and difficulties they faced during their journey.

On the conditions of her enrollment in the Air Force, Al-Mansouri explained, during the meeting, which was attended by more than 300 young men and women, that her first goal after completing high school with distinction was the direction to surgical medicine, to achieve her dream of scientific innovation in the world of medical surgery, where she applied for a scholarship for medicine And another to join the armed forces to work in the medical field.

She explained that she was unable to register in the College of Medicine, due to the large number that was offered for this specialization in that year, in addition to that the military field was not available to women until that time, pointing out that when she learned that the way for Emirati women was opened to join the armed forces, I hurried up.

Regarding the exercises, Al-Mansoori said: “The exercises include the theoretical and practical sides, as I have completed four years of study and application on a (Mirage) plane and then (F-16), and fear and anxiety did not enter my heart, because with my decision to join the Air Force and Air Defense, I had overcome all my fears. , In addition to that I used to derive my resolve and strength from our leadership, which provides us with various tools and capabilities to support and encourage us. ”

Regarding the honor she received from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Lieutenant Colonel Rukn Tayyar explained that it was one of the moments during which her eyes teared up, despite her questioning why she was honored for her work. Before realizing the size of the achievement you have achieved, noting that this honor concerns an integrated work system, and that it concerns every Emirati and Arab woman.

Regarding the achievements, Al-Mansouri mentioned a quote by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, when a journalist asked him to talk about his accomplishments, and he replied: “A person must accomplish first, and then see the fruit of his effort, then he speaks.” Human achievements should not stop at certain limits, and work and effort are always required to continue the process of building, growth and prosperity.

In answering the questions of the girls present, Al-Mansouri stressed that the country's young men and women are a source of pride for their country, regardless of the type of work they do, as long as they implement it sincerely, stressing that serving the nation is a duty at all times and in any place.

Al Mansoori praised the role of the Sharjah Girls' Sajaya Foundation, and what it offers in order to create a generation of talented and ambitious girls, aware of the changes and requirements of the current era, and those looking for excellence and creativity in everything they work.

Sheikha Aisha Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah Girls' Sajaya, said: “Our continuation in organizing the event (Meeting with Mulham) comes from the goals of (Sajaya) that seek to support and encourage girls to become leaders and pioneers of the future, in addition to opening the way for female affiliates, adolescents and youth to meet with inspirational Emirati personalities. She is successful in various practical and life sectors, and has managed to achieve an achievement that will be added to the UAE’s long track record at the local and global levels.
