Mainz (dpa / lrs) - The appointment system for corona vaccinations in Rhineland-Palatinate is due to start on January 4th.

A week later, the vaccination centers are due to open on January 11, as the Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday.

The first people in Rhineland-Palatinate - residents of old people's homes and caregivers - have been vaccinated against the corona virus since Sunday.

So far, no incidents have become known, the ministry reported.

Health Minister Sabine Bätzing-Lichtenthäler (SPD) wants to announce more details about the current status of vaccinations and the next steps at a press conference this Wednesday (2 p.m.).
