Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun ordered that all efforts be put into rapid rescue in relation to the overturning of a fishing boat that occurred on the Jeju coast yesterday (29th).



Prime Minister Chung said, "The Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries and the Commissioner of the Maritime Police Agency urgently ordered, mobilizing all available ships, aircraft, rescue squads, and fishing vessels, merchant ships, and public ships operating in the vicinity to do their best to rescue and search lives," the Prime Minister's office said.



Prime Minister Chung said, "Rescue the crew members isolated inside the ship as quickly as possible," and said, "Because the local weather is not good, make sure to take care of the safety of the rescue team."



In addition, he ordered, "The Minister of Defense also mobilized naval warships to support the search, and to provide support to facilitate night rescue activities such as dropping flares using aircraft."



Yesterday, around 7:44 pm, a report was received that a 39t-class fishing boat with seven crew members on board about 2.6km northwest of Jeju Port was overturned, and the Coast Guard is working on rescue.
