The 53-year-old American was on his way to the shelter when he saw that the building was on fire.

On the street since he was 13, he has owned a dog that the director of the W-Underdogs shelter agrees to keep every night.

So, when he sees the flames ravaging the premises, he does not hesitate for long before jumping into the blaze.

A "guardian angel"

“I'm not going to lie, I was extremely stressed.

I was very scared to go into the shelter with all this smoke.

But God sent me there to save these animals, ”he said.

And to add: "If you love a dog, you can love anyone in the world.

My dog ​​is my best friend, and I wouldn't be here without him.

I knew I had to save all the other dogs.


The founder and director of the shelter said she could never thank her "guardian angel" enough.

Even if the places are now uninhabitable, luckily, the refuge had already planned to move the following week.
