Düsseldorf (dpa) - Football professional Jakub Piotrowski from the second division Fortuna Düsseldorf has tested positive for the corona virus.
As the Rhinelander announced on Tuesday, the 23-year-old midfielder immediately went to quarantine at home.
The local health department had been informed.
Since the Pole had no contact with the team or the coaching team after Christmas, training could start on Tuesday as planned.
"We hope that the affected player will have a mild course of his illness and wish him a good and quick recovery," said Fortuna sports director Uwe Klein.
