Mügeln (dpa / sn) - A car was caught by the Döllnitzbahn at a level crossing in northern Saxony and dragged along for several meters.

The 56-year-old driver of the car was not injured in the accident on Monday, as the Leipzig police announced on Tuesday.

According to initial findings, the driver initially stopped in Mügeln at a stop sign in front of the level crossing, as prescribed.

When the woman started up again at the open crossing, she overlooked the train coming from the left and was spotted.

The Döllnitzbahn operates a narrow-gauge railway network in the Oschatz and Mügeln area.

In addition to diesel trains, she also uses historic steam trains on special occasions.
