With dazzling fluency of the tongue and without any fear of the microphone, the Tunisian young man, Alaeddin Mansour, welcomed his loyal listeners, promising them an interesting new episode of the sports radio program "In the Kage" (The Cage) in which he is participating as a sports analyst.

Alaeddin, son of the Mahdia governorate (the eastern center), chose to specialize in physical therapy, and is now in his first year at the Higher School of Health Sciences and Technologies in the capital, Tunis.

Fate wished for Aladdin to lose his eyesight as a child in two separate incidents. He did not like to delve into their details very much, so he lost his left eye at the age of two, then his right when he reached his tenth year.

The beginning of the attachment

Since the age of six, he was attached to the Etoile Sahel sports team, and he used to watch his matches on television with one eye, and watch every little thing and concerns about the team on the radio.

He was also fond of following analytical sports programs, so he watched them greedily until he memorized the star's playing style and the artistic framework's plans in the stadiums by heart, and the team's love grew in the heart of Aladdin (21 years) year after year, and it turned into passion and an involuntary attachment that accompanied him to this day.

During his studies at the preparatory school in the governorate of Sousse, Alaa made a bold decision in which his family supported him, as he assures Al-Jazeera Net, by traveling alone on the bus between his hometown and the school, defying the congestion of public transport and the dangers of the road.

I follow my heart

He was fortunate to have met a group of Sahelian star's beloved on the bus, and they became friends, so he suggested that they accompany them to the stadiums, and they welcomed the idea with pleasure, and his family also encouraged him to take this step.

Aladdin became a loyal weekly visitor to the runways, and he used to put the stethoscope in his ears and listen to the announcer's comment on the match, and he recalled, through his memories, the way the team played in his memory before losing sight, as he "follows with his heart," he says.

The sincerity of his feelings and his challenge to his health attracted his neighbor, who filmed and wrote a text that talks about the courage of this exceptional young man, as he travels alone between buses and express trains to attend his team's matches, and he published pictures and text on his sports page on Facebook in 2015.

Close friendship

The neighbor's post reached the ears of the star team, and he called Aladdin, and it was the beginning of a close friendship between the two sides, and the lover fan became a loyal visitor to the team's headquarters in Sousse, and took pictures with his players and technical framework, to culminate this strong bond by accompanying the team 5 times on his sports dates outside Tunisia.

Aladdin also became fond of European football, gained experience and a sporting culture that created in him an unbridled desire to share it with others.

Radio experience

A coach in the Sahel region put his confidence in Aladdin, and gave him his first opportunity to comment on one of the matches on an electronic radio last August and analyze it, so the young man passed the test with everyone's testimony.

He wanted a second chance in which he would unleash his energies. The administrators of the local private radio station MFM in Mahdia have given him their confidence since October 17, and he became an analyst for the "Fi El Kage" program, showing his skills in commenting on the matches and events of the week's sports Every Saturday evening.

Difficulties

Alaa's boldness and the strength of his character did not prevent him from experiencing difficulties that he summed up in the lack of respect by some car drivers for people with disabilities - including him - while they are on the move and crossing the road, so they do not give them priority.

But Alaeddin accustomed himself to adapt to his situation and to rely on himself and trust in it, assuring Al-Jazeera Net: "It is true that I do not see this world, but I am part of it, so I have to play my role in it properly."

Family bounty

Alaa attributes the credit for his success to his family, which was always present at his side, did not let him close in on himself and taught him how to rely on himself in the conduct of his simplest affairs and to be independent, and it gave him the opportunity to discover himself and liberate all the energies inherent in him.

Belief in capabilities

The secret of Aladdin's success lies in his overcoming his inner fear. He advises people with disabilities to believe in their abilities and to keep their hearts alive and not allow others to pity them. He says, "Draw your goals between you and yourself, broaden them, and start the step and do not allow anyone to frustrate your resolve."

He calls on everyone to stop excluding people with disabilities, not to consider them obstructive, to seek to approach them, understand and discover them before judging them, and to "search for ways to enter their hearts that are always open to everyone."
